That was entirely point. It is legal to both purchase and possess TBT in California, I could go buy some from a chemical supply house today. And, in fact, under California 3-6489 it would be legal to add it to bottom paint in California because the law specifically says it prohibits TBT “sold as an ‘additive’”. If the TBT was sold for some other purpose (and their are other uses for the stuff) then under that statute it would be legal to add to your paint (not claiming that other statutes might supersede that one and prohibit it). Just goes to show how poorly our legislators do their jobs.

Okay, this may sound blunt to you but I really need to ask: why do you ask questions on CF when you can’t learn from the answers?

Unfortunately Pettit Ultima SR 60 is no longer available. Apparently the components making up the SR, Slime Reduction, are no longer available. I had fantastic results with it, 2+ years and 3K NM. Now looking for a suitable substitute. All suggestions welcome.

Yes, quite amusing, but I’m sure that it was voice to text that got him. My iPad does it to me all the time. For some reason or other, I just can’t get it to recognize my West Virginia accent.
I do (usually) go back and proofread and correct my posts though.
Nice to have a good chuckle once in a while though.

And to think that I thought the reference to financing a harlot was related to the OP’s limited budget 🙈

Of course that is absolutely necessary irrespective of your choice of bottom paint.

I hate to be a stickler, but the contraction form of “it is’ is it’s.
Sorry, one of my pet peeves.

Adding copper powder into existing antifouling run s the real risk of creating "caking"
and adhesion issues

Me too. from the Wikipedia page on common misspellings:

its' (it's [contraction], its [possessive])

Unfortunately spelling and grammar checkers often get it wrong.
