analogue guy in a digital world

Ok Guys, I’m an analog guy in a digital world. I have an old ‘89 Irwin Citation 38 that I absolutely love, she's treated me well and still has the look that makes my heart pit-r-patter. The Nav system is “antiquated” with the standard horizon Depth and Raymarine wheel ST40. I think it might be time to enter the 21st century and update the nav system and auto pilot.

Here in Charlotte Harbor on the Gulf coast of Florida I am mostly a coastal cruiser with the occasional trip to Key West and the dry Tortugas. In the future maybe to the BVI etc.

I really like the look and feel of B&G. I think the Vulcan 7 will probably fit the bill but why would I not go with the Zeus with nmea2000 ? What does it offer over the Vulcan ?
I’m wandering around in the dark...looking for some suggestions on a complete nav system refit. I’m not stuck on B&G so any other recommendations would be appreciated from the chartplotter, speed, depth, and wind to auto pilot.
