Anchor Roller Relocation

I have a Leopard 40 Catamaran, the anchor roller design allows the anchor to exit about 5-7 feet foward of the mast. I am not happy with this design especially when I have to set the anchor when I am alone on the boat. I would like to install a new anchor roller on the underside of the foward cross beam. I am concerned about the structural integrity of the cross beam if I make this change. If there is anyone out there who has made a similar modification I would very much appriciate hearing from them. pics would be a plus. Thank You

Re: Anchor roller relocation

That would be slightly different than cats with rode passing on top of walkway, or thru it, but the loads would be the same.

So see how they are braced to deal with these loads. There should be a strut between the bow tube and bridgedeck where the windlass is to handle horizontal loads, and the headstay would counter the vertical load from the rode.
