Mother Nature dropped another foot of snow on us night before last. Lori snapped this pic out the screen door! *sigh*



It's gonna take a couple of months for that mess to melt! :-( Gettin' real anxious to get in the shed and back to work on the boat.

Was watching some 'Mythbusters' clips on Youtube and got to thinking if there was a boating myth they could test. I remember back in my Coast Guard days the hairy ass'd ole' sailors and their sayings. One in particular was: "On a sinking ship there's no better bilge pump than a frightened sailor with a bucket!" So I submitted that to Mythbusters! More on that on my blog:

Yup, did a walk around my shed too. I reached up with my hand (I'm Five feet seven inches tall, 1700mm) and cleaned out the gutters, while I was there. Easy peasy, since I was standing on 3 feet of hard packed snow!

Oh well, it's only April. We got 8 inches of snow in the last week of March. It's not like it's spring or anything!

We finally have a forecast with 4 days in a row of above freezing (daytime) temperatures, and 50mm of rain coming tomorrow, that should put a dent in it...

I'm looking forward to your updates. The boat looks great, will you turn it over this summer? Stay well.

Temps are in the 20C range today. Finally! I've managed to get the doors open on the shed and get things drying out. The floor is a mud bog! Hopefully it won't take too long to dry up.

The maximum saturation of moisture that air can hold is between 80 & 82 degrees F. Think steam sauna.

I wonder if it would be easier to build a mold then lay in gelcoat and then glass. Maybe a heck of a lot less sanding.
