ARCO 44 Two-Speed Winches

Hi forum followers. I have a pair of Arco 44 self tailing winches and the plastic insert in the self tailing bit needs replacing. Does anyone know where I might get them?

Me too!

I was ignoring the problem till I sorted the bigger issues. If you find a supplier, can you let me know?

Google "Arco winches" and go from there. Great service for good winches.

Thanks Stillbuilding - I did that a few months ago and came up with nothing. Did it this time and got the HUTTON-ARCO site and they were very helpful - parts ordered, Cheers

Re: ARCO 44 Two-Speed Winches

The hutton arco "hit and miss".

These guys are really bizarre!

I had 2 wiches rebuilt to self tailing wiches with these guys last year.

I sent my winches off, and after the promised 4 weeks had elapsed, I rang them.

Well, there was no answer to the line. So I rang them the next day, no answer to the phone. SO I wrang them the next day, no answer to the phone.... I really thought I had been scammed by an internet scammer (I had paid the quote upfront, and the business had appeared to have dropped off the face of the earth)

I sent an email, after many days, I got a reply "We were all on holiday - will progress your job when we are back in the office."

A couple of weeeks later, my winches arrived mysteriously in the post. The workmanship was rally good and I was HAPPY, the result was good.

Well, as a happy customer, I then sent an email - asking for parts for the ARCO 44. Over 13 months to date and no response!

Well, these guys do good work, but they "march to the beat of their own drum".

FWIW,

I have had excellent response to all queries/orders at Hutton. Friendly and accommodating to a visiting yottie.

Cheers,

Jim

Calls it as I sees it.

I have two really lovely rebuilt Barlow winches on my yacht, courtesy of Hutton - arco. And, to be honest the self tailing coversion they did probably saved my marriage!

But the ARco 44 is still an eyesore.
