Well 13 years with 3 years+ per application, seems very consistent indeed.

I have had the same success but I thought it was linterlux Extra? And yes discontinued. Now looking for a suitable replacement, I would go with petit Trinidad hard paint but I think you can only put it on top of another hard paint.

I guess I must be wrongfully assuming he was talking about this Hard paint...

Interlux Ultra is a hard paint. Interlux Extra is an ablative paint.

Thank you very much, I appreciate, your quick reply.
We just did a haul out and sandblasted down to the fiberglass. After sanding, filling imperfections, sanding again we did 3 coats of sea Hawk tuff stuff and then 2 coats of sea hawk cukote ablative. The jury is still out on how well it will hold out. But we are live aboard travel up and down east coast, Bahamas and around Florida to the gulf. All of the advice we got said don’t try to cut corners if you paid for a haul out 😉. This is the same stuff that the shipyard uses.

Well my last bottom job i used Seahawk cukote. Applied in jacksonville Fl and it started having hrd growth within 1 month and that was how it was for the 3. Years it took to wear.be scraped away. Guess results will vary with if they decide to add the copper to the batch you buy.

Most of my research, I see paints lasting at the most between 24 to 30 months, I was hoping to find something in the 3+ years category.
By the way the sailboat would be mostly sailed and anchored between the tropics, I would use a plastic spatula on a monthly basis and I would like to reduce haul outs to a minimum.
Check out:
- Sea-speed V10 Ultra clear
- MCoating MC_LioCyl

Both are a hard silacate formula offering many years (5+) of service.
I don't have personal experience with either, but one of them will be applied on my next haul out.

It seems some have had not so good results, using this product.

Thank you for your reply and experience of this product.
Seems that the quality is not consistent with this paint.

Yep, I used the extra, 2 coats red first the navy, and with each I double applied the leading edges with the last quart of “leftover” product. My hull still has a good bit of the navy and the red in intact.

It seems like a thick paint, you need more than others to cover adequately.
Thank you for your input, I appreciate.

I sarcastically add: the reason they took it off the market is because the DEP somehow found out it worked……kidding, not kidding.
