Re: Best Place to Refit (not DIY) in Eastern Florida?

I've had massive repair work done at Cracker Boy boat yard in Riviera Beach - it was an insurance project, neat, clean and excellent work. Jack and Lynda built their catamaran s they know from experience on their own boat.

Re: Best Place to Refit (not DIY) in Eastern Florida?

Just Catamarans also works out of Lauderdale Marine Center. Best to get her hauled somewhere and get 3 or 4 quotes where they can see what their up against. Then, do some research and hire the contractor of choice. Usually , as long as they can produce insurance , they can work in most yards. Make sure some of the yards that are supposedly cheaper, don't tack on electricity, enclosure expense, environmental fees and a percentage of the gross amount for the job. At least know of these fees first and who's responsible for them.
Ask those questions first and make sure you have a contract with the contractor spelling things out!
Once your on the hard somewhere, your at their mercy!
Sarah is the one at Lauderdale Marine Center to ask all the questions as mentioned above.
Good luck!!!

Whew. Slow start, blistering finish!

More places than I can shake a stick at.

I hope to get 2 competent guys on it for $100/hr.

Probably keeping it down to an interior build out and non skid paint to keep it simple. I can do all the systems. Just don't want to play with epoxy and sanding.

You're right.

I need to narrow the scope a bit.

Keeping it to non structural interior fit out. Berths, heads, showers, cabinetry.

No systems, nothing major.
