Thanks everyone for the input!! Much appreciated.
I don't have an above-water thru-hull available but i've added substantial above-water cockpit-drainage pipes with massive outlets. I'm thinking I'll tap into them, with a riser so that there won't be any backflow from the cockpit.

That can work well.
In the old days, (mostly among fishing/work boats,) it was quite common to have a manual bilge pump in the cockpit that discharged right out its side into the cockpit.
Of course, all the oily bilge water and fish scales covered the cockpit sole, but hey, everybody had on hip-boots and oilskins anyway.
Your way will be more "Yachting" in nature.
