Boat Yard in Cheaspeake Bay

We are facing a blisterng problem (osmosis) and we plan to solve this now while we are here in US in Cheaspeake Bay.

Does anyone know a good boatyard in this area?

We have a draft problem: 9,5"

Thanks in advance

Northern part of the Bay or Southern? (Maryland or Virginia)

If it's the Southern Bay, you can probably get into Cobb's Marina and Boatyard. (I've seen deep keeled racing sailboats on the hard in their boatyard)

Both well regarded, but it would take a near miracle to get into HHN with that draft. You could certainly call and ask. Maybe with the tides?

Perhaps Zanhisers in Solomons would be able. They have a marine railway lift, in addition to a travel lift, that regularly pulls deep draft vessels. Plus, they have been doing osmosis repair for years and guarantee the results. Exceptional crab cakes at their restaurant also a strong incentive. 410.326.2166

Otherwise, Annapolis would be your next choice. Plenty spots there could do it.

Chesapeake Boat Works in Deltaville, VA. Draft would be no problem and Knowledgable staff. Rifhmond airports an hour away.

You could also try Washburn's Boat Yard in Solomons. Washburns Boat Yard

Atlantic Yacht Basin, right on the ICW just south of Norfolk. They handle some pretty heavy stuff. Had our bottom done there. Great work.

Spring Cove Marina in Solomon's Island should be able to assist. 12 foot water depths by docks.

Holler if you do come to Annapolis. I'll be happy to help you get situated.

Yacht Maintenance in Cambridge. They do all kinds and sizes of boats pleasure and commercial. They stand behind their work also. They saw a problem with work they had done a year earlier on my boat and then fixed it because it should not have happened, I hadn't even noticed it the problem. Can't say enough good about them and know some that will never go there again. Boat yards are like anchors and politics everyone has an opinion.

Bert Jabin's Boatyard in Annapolis. Plenty of deep-keeled racing sloops and a big yard with quality contractors.

Re: Boat Yard in Cheaspeake Bay

Give Wormley Creek a call. That may be at the edge of the draft they can handle, but very capable and friendly marina and staff. Sits in Yorktown, part of the historic triangle. Newport News airport is 20 minutes, and less than an hour to Richmond or Norfolk.
