Hi, does anyone know what the item in the red circle on the image below is?

That looks far far too small to be a bollard or a bit. It's shorter than the aluminum toe rail. It's hard to tell with such a low res picture what it might actually be.

Thx @Muaddib1116. I tend to agree with you. I know what a bollard is but this looks more like a broken winch.

I zoomed in on the original photo. Hope this helps to better identify the piece.

That looks like the base of an old deck mounted block that was probably used to route the furling line.
