BOW THRUSTER

Would appreciate any input from anyone who has installed a bow thruster on a 28 ft monohull sailboat. Considering installing a tunnel thruster on a 28 ft Cape Dory. Any pictures or suggestions on placement on similar size craft would give me a start on this project. WHY you ask? I usually single hand and have no problems but reaching 74 do not want to limit myself to light wind docking and sailing. Boat usually behaves quite well but can be a problem in cross wind docking or leaving dock. Thanks in advance.

Re: BOW THRUSTER

I don't know anything about bow thrusters but have you seen these? They just bolt on: no holes and they seem quite cheap and virtually no installation cost.

Re: BOW THRUSTER

Got a thruster on my 28’ powerboat.
Vetus 4HP, been holding up great for 19 years with minimum maintenance.
Strong enough so I can leave and arrive at a dock in 25+ knots of wind from any direction.
Highly recommend.

Hi, saw this type, opted for Lamar tunnel. Now deciding where to make the hole.
