Bowsprit

Can anyone tell me if it is necessary to brace the crossbeam back to the bridge deck if you add a bowsprit or is the crossbeam likely to be strong enough to handle it?
The catamaran in question is a 2009 Nautitech 402.

Re: Bowsprit

The martingale stays should really be taking the load, although the x-beam ought to be able to handle it

I would have thought the builder/designers of the boat would be better people to ask rather than a random assortment of folks who in all likelihood have not a clue.
Or.. these guys.. https://www.nautitechowners.com/

Hi - yes I agree but unfortunately the Nautitech that built the boat is not the Nautitech that are now building them! You may recall that they got taken over by Bavaria.
So I thought I would throw it out there in the hope that someone knowledgable might be able to give me a sensible reply.
