This is due to your location in the Southern Hemisphere. When you get to Singapore the problem will resolve itself and pictures will appear right-side up.

BTW, +1 Marqus. Thanks for the very well written thread.

The photo may contain metadata that identifies the "up" position of a photo. This can be a PITA if you don't hold the camera in the correct "up" position. Many photo viewers can strip this data and allow you to rotate the photo to any orientation and then re-save the image.

If you setup up a flikr, photobucket or similar photo sharing site account it should have this functionality available for uploaded photos. You can keep a record of your refit for your own purposes online and choose the photos to share. Sharing a photo here then is a simple copy and paste of a link.

When I view the images on my phone or on my Macbook they appear the right way up, but when I upload them they are upside down, so I guess the Android and Apple software picks is able to read some image metadata that the web browser cannot. I will have to check images in a browser before I upload them to confirm how they will display online, then edit and rotate if required.

Re: Breaking All the Rules ...

Some photos as promised. They appear the right way up on my phone and Macbook, even using Chrome browser, so if they don't display properly it is a problem with the way this website presents pictures.

Yes. Dual instruments, engine, gearbox, and steering in pilothouse and cockpit. Internal steering is hydraulic, and external is wire/chain.

Hi Homeless, weird problem and being the compulsive but lazy problem solver that I am... does this help: (adding to Reefmagnet's comment)

Why Your iPhone Photos are Upside Down & How to Fix That
Most people first noticed this issue when iOS 5 was released. This was the first time that you could take a photo using the volume up button. This is an awesome feature and I use it all the time.
The only problem is that when you hold your camera with the volume buttons pointing up, your photos will be upside down on most Windows machines.

No mention of repairs to some of the thin spots?
