Bruce Roberts Mauritius 43 - Ketch to Cutter

Does anyone know anything about converting a Bruce Roberts Mauritius 43 from a ketch to a cutter? Were they designed for either rig? Does the mast have to be relocated? How high should the main mast be? Can I just use the original - short - mast? Can a person go back to BR himself and ask for such information?

You can try BR but he has not been very responsive to queries in the past. Tried to get info from them a few years ago on a BR 35 a friend was buying and got nowhere. He has an extensive website. BOAT PLANS BRUCE ROBERTS, FOUNDED 1966, OFFICIAL SITE, 200 boat plans & boat kits SAILBOATS, POWER BOATS powerboats steel, aluminum, fiberglass, wood epoxy boats

Ask as a prospective buyer...

I've found Bruce Roberts to be very responsive but that was when I was asking as a prospective buyer.

I'd suggest sending a querry about a set of plans rather than about an existing boat.

I'm sure he has been burnt a few times answering enquiries abut boats built from pirated plans.

The mast height above the deck is 51 feet + or - 6 inches. of course the mast position on deck will alter.
