Bumpy Teak

As I prepare to re-finish the teak on our boat, I've come across a few places with fairly noticable bumps in the wood, as if the softer grain wore down but the harder did not. Is there any way to fix this shy of sanding it down to even? The previous owner had the boat sitting for quite some time, and this is one of the many projects awaiting us to get back to ship-shape! Any input is appreciated.

Re: Bumpy Teak

Random orbital and 60 or 80 sandpaper

Teak sands easily, the rubber caulked seams need grunt

Flatten seams first , then gently sand the teak deck

Gentle with the teak that stuff is priced like gold

A sealer like semco or teak wonder greatly prolongs the life of the teak
