Re: CAD file for portlight frames

You can print in teak oak mahogany interior and never oxidize aluminum on the outside if you like. Steel Copper Aluminum and many woods are infused up to 25% in poly giving a final print imitation of a material

Re: CAD file for portlight frames

Sorry pretending to work. I’ll check PM in a bit but no worries I send you a link to download then adjust for your size.
Know your plastic. Nylons even with cf or pc shrink .08%. ASA .09% so your drawing should be slightly bigger than the printing. I use 1.09 on ASA drawings. Save a fact file and a print file is all. The metals each one is different.

PS if you don’t have a good drawing program download Wings free. Great at extruding your exact fit on these portlight.
You could use blender also free to change the radius curve.

Re: CAD file for portlight frames

So just in case my pm messed up here’s the link. You have to join Cults to download our stuff. It’s free.
If you have issues I’ve made 4 of these portlights and they are slick. Aircraft like.

Re: CAD file for portlight frames

Yikes!

Is 80 hours normal for this sort of printing job?

Just.curious. I'll stick to aluminium or stainless.for now.
