Cape Dory 25D anode

The anode on my Cape Dory has either been totally used up or fell off in the two years since it was newly installed. With it totally missing, I no longer have a “go by” to replace the missing anode. I bought two when I last replaced this anode but can’t seem to find the spare.

I seem to recall something about Perry but don’t remember if that is for the prop anode or the anode attached to the Yanmar diesel head. Is there a Cape Dory owner of a CD25 that took better notes on the replacement?

If you are talking about the shaft anode, simply measure the shaft and buy one that fits.

I should have been more specific. The anode on the CD25 fits on the end of the 1” shaft and it’s located outboard of the prop nut. I think I recall it screws on the threaded part of the shaft and has a cotter key to hold it in place; however, I could be wrong and it may be held on with an Allen head bolt and lock washer. I just need someone that owns a CD25 to refresh my memory.

You need the series “C” prop nut anode for your 1” shaft and 3/4” threaded mounting insert.
