Carpet Outside

I have a sundeck trawler there is carpet on the middle deck . It is under roof but still exposed to some limited sun and does get wet from the rain Any recommendation on what to replace with ? It is custom sized and need to have the edges bound and just lays down no glue Current carpet is just worn out fron old age

More carpet? You can have it surged(bound) at most independent carpet dealers..good luck

This is extremely hardwearing, UV resistant and won't rot with water exposure:
Carpets | Durable non-woven polypropylene floor coverings
The edges don't need binding. It can be scrubbed with soapy water and rinsed with a hose for easy cleaning.

Poly prop is good stuff ,but its the one that builds up static shock and if it has action back it will eat your boat deck after a while..look for one with jute back or latex only..Or get a roll of that rubber like shelf paper and put the carpet on top of that, keeps it from sliding too..

Re: Carpet Outside

I would no more have carpet on even a sheltered deck than I would wear a sponge for a hat. Even if it didn't inevitably trap moisture and mold, it will trap dirt. Treadmaster or other anti-skid...and a good freshwater wash...are better alternatives in my view.
