I think there was only white, but I’m sure different buckets would work as well

Is your wife selling them? With a label that says they are for marine use they should go for hundreds.

As with most inventions, you are not the first. We use them every night down here in Caribbean and have for 2 years.

Caribbean's Leading Chandlery - Budget Marine

LOL.. Budget Marine has carried these for years. We paid $10.99 USD in Grenada. In Grenada it would be WAY cheaper to buy the "breeze booster" than a garbage can to cut up.

As you can see I stated I'm sure it's been done before, but you paid 11 times what we did. Paying for the marine name!

LOL.. Ok marine name.. The $11.00 version I bought floats, has a built in retainer and is UV resistant. I don't feel ripped off!

Re: Cheap opening port windscoop

I like it! I bet one could make these out of regular 5-gallon buckets. In my area these are tossed out by restaurants all the time - dishwashing fluids, bleach, soy sauce... Some that are intended for one use are not very resistant to UV radiation from the sun. I call it ultra VIOLENT radiation. The best are the colored ones used for motor oil, hydraulic oil, paint, etc.

Love the genius in your wife... She's a keeper! But, I love my Breeze Boosters with screens to keep the bugs out. They even keep the rain out unless it's 30Kts or more.

If I was you, I'd be verrrrry careful about hinting in any way, shape or form that my wife had become too large in any respect to fit...just sayin'

Take it from one who only occasionally opens his mouth to switch feet.
