Chesapeake DIY Steel Boat Yards

Can anyone recommend any good reasonably priced haulout yards in the Cheasapeke area which allow DIY work but also have good support, particularly for welding work? ie, steel boat repairs.

No response! Really can't believe there are no haul out facilities that meet that criteria, or at least something close....

Port Annapolis has a pool.good yard near Annapolis so lots of service and parts. Hartge yacht yard next to a commercial yard and steel boat builder no pool. Lippincotts on kent island has a pool. Better rates kent island has welders
Maybe give us some info how big where on the bay

You may try Chesapeake Boat Works in Deltaville. Allows DYI ( thats what I am doing ) and offers all kinds of repair services. I do not know ( personally ) their welding capabilities.

Krentz in Callao VA is good for DIY, and have seen two steel boats there. One boat was DIY the welding. Not sure about the other

I'll also recommend Chesapeake Boat Works in Deltaville on Fishing Bay. Good deep water access plus they repair large commercial vessels with their rail haulout. I'm doing a blister repair job on my boat and for things that become too dificult for me to do(like peeling the gel), they have done a good job. Well run yard.
