Confused about bilge pumps ?

I am in the process of changing out my bilge pumps and have been doing research ... I have decided on Whale Brand. Now I have myself raising my eyeballs with what I am reading

This pump (pump A )has a rating of 300gph
Whale Marine - Products

This pump (pump B ) has a rating of 1100gph
Whale Marine - Products

Pump B is 1/3rd the cost of Pump A ....... Why does everyone not simply buy Pump B?

Am I missing something ?

Pump A is intended to be remote mounted, with a small intake unit. Might be handy if Pump B won't fit, and the lower capacity is acceptable, but more expensive.
