Confusing Fuel system issue...

Hi all

I'm tearing my hair out over my diesel system for the engine. As background bought the boat 5 yrs ago and installed new engine and complete fuel system. Never had a problem until yesterday....
Essentially the engine died, thankfully at anchor
Went through the system and noticed that when I prime the engine with the manual lift pump there is air being sucked into the bottom of the raccor filter through the plastic screw (not the drain plug). So assumed I had a blocked fuel line between the tank and raccor. Stripped it all down and no blockage anywhere, fuel flows fine from both tanks.

Can any one advise on what I may be missing?

Maybe the seal of the drain plug needs attention

Yes about ten minutes after posting this that occurred to me..... took out the plug, cleaned and retightened and seems to be holding now.

Just hope it holds until I find a replacement seal....
