Coppercoat

This antifouling stuff seems too good to be true. Has anyone used it, and if so, what were the results? They say it lasts 10 years.

I have read a lot of threads about similar products, but never seen them in action. The best ideas I have seen were copper foil epoxied to the hull, and copper sprayed onto an epoxy coating. Copper in epoxy resin seems like it would work, but I have heard it works only marginally well. I am not going to risk it, but I bet it would work well enough.

I want facts, not speculation. Has anyone used this product? According to the website, it has been available for quite a few years in the U.K.

There was a post, on here I think, about Coppercoat, something I'd never heard about. I asked around a little and found some boats who'd used it. Without exception, they were all very happy about it. One boat had gone 11 years without needing further bottom paint. I saw one boat hauled out after 7 years with no growth on the bottom, but quite a bit on the prop after sitting unused for 4 months. I'm convinced and having it applied in September before heading off to the Canaries and then points west.
A caveat, I don't know any boats that have sat in the sort of warm water experienced in the Southern states. The experience may be different there.
