CT 41 Bow Sprit

My friend's CT 41 Bowsprit is bent over about 25 degrees to port. The sprit is SS and is held in a wooden sleeve that is attached to the FRP hull. The sprit was two whisker stays, a bob stay and the main mast fore stay attached to tangs welded to it.

We need to straighten it.

Does anybody know how these things were put together by CT?

How deep into the wooden sleeve does that SS piece go? How it is held in there? How best to get it out?

With thanks

A picture would really help.
