D.I.Y yards close to palm beach Florida

Hi everyone I'm planning on buying a boat from up north and want to get it somewhere closer to home e.g palm beach.I really don't want to cart all my tools and everything else not to mention having to stay there to do it the Mrs will kill me for sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated and it would save my sanity and my marriage 🤣🤣🤣

I remember Cracker Boy being somewhat DIY friendly many years ago. Then there's always Glades, on the Okeechobee waterway.

Have not kept a boat in Palm Beach for many years so no personal experience but activecaptain.com shows some DIY yards in the area. Here's one.

IIRC Crackerboy requires you buy bottom paint from them. At very high price. Also, limited outside contractors.

Check out Seminole Marine in Palm Beach Gardens. I have not used them myself yet, but I live aboard right next door in Soverel Harbour Marina. Their website claims that they do not require any purchases from their on-site store, which is rather rare these days. Their haul/launch fees are comparable, as are their storage fees.

There is also Muerrell's in Lantana. They do bottoms and there are a number of craftsmen with shops on premise.

True re Cracker Boy requiring you to buy materials from them and they do mark up
There are many local guys who are available to work on anything. Onsite they have Williams Marine for engine prop etc. Phillip does great wood work. The two Mexican guys do all sorts of fiberglass repair and paint. They are all on site as if 6/2020. Russ

I stored my boat in Riverside Marina, Fort Pierce. This is a grubby DIY marina with good equipment and a friendly and careful staff. I did not buy supplies from them. I suspect you can contract for major work there too.

Get on Crusingguide.com and do a marina search. Also marinas.com or activecaptain.com. There is usually DIY info on each marina.

My boat is at Seminole right now, being serviced by Yacht Tech. I have always had a good experience there.

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. Me and Mrs will be busy checking them out over the next few weeks. May the wind be always at your back and the sky always clear.
