DA Polisher for Boat Polishing and Waxing

I finished waxing my boat for the spring launch. I had purchased a 10" Ryobi random orbital variable speed buffer for the job. Turns out the 10" is a little too big to work with. It also left some swirls. I'm planning to return this and possibly upgrade to the Ryobi 5" Dual Action Polisher (https://www.ryobitools.com/products/details/33287193677). I noticed that the low end of the RPMs is 3,000 with the high at 7,500. Is 3,000 to high for polishing? Also, I think 5" should be large enough and help me get into smaller areas that need some polishing and waxing (cabin sides, cockpit, etc.). I really don't want to spend $300 on a polisher I'll use 1-2x/year.
