Depth Transducer Replacement

So I received a new depth transducer for my fine old Link 5000 system. The new version will be serviceable from inside the boat where the original was installed thru the hull requiring that the boat be hauled in order to remove the old unit.

Simple question: Old transducer called for a 2-1/16" hole. The new transducer calls for a 2" hole.

Can the new transducer be installed in the existing 2-1/16" bore (assuming proper sealant application) without risk of vessel integrity / security?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Re: Depth Transducer Replacement

No real issues here, it's only 1/16th of an inch, using any of the suitable underwater sealants/ adhesives types will fill that small gap with no issues
