Diameter & Thread for fittings - Polypropylene Diesel Tank - ABYC VS Europe & NZ/Aus?

I am designing a replacement fuel tank. This includes placement and the pipe diameter and thread of fittings. Fuel pick up, fuel return, clean out tube near pickup, fill tube, vent. (mechanical level gauge also given the tank location can not use a yard stick)

I am basing everything on these (unfortunately kinda old) ABYC standards
https://law.resource.org/pub/us/cfr/....H-33.1989.pdf
before i finalize my tank order:
Have these guidelines been updated significantly in more recent versions?
The boat might end up documented in Europe someday. What is the EU equivalent? Where can I find this document?

(Not pressing, but, I always appreciate comparing the guidelines for other regions. I would especially like to see similar guidance from New Zealand and Australia if anyone has it)

(Boat is small, <12,000 lbs, tank is 28 to 35 gallons. Sailboat. Polypropylene tank will be hand welded by Triple M Plastics in Maine Triple 'M' Plastics who specializes in marine diesel fuel tanks. I am sure they know the minimum thread length needed in the USA compared to metal, but I felt it was on me to investigate guidelines in the EU also.)

Tanks for the help. I mean. Thanks for the help.

I don't know what your exact configuration is, but ifyou can see the side of the tank, consider a sight gauge rather than a mechanical fuel gauge. Put a valve at the bottom for added safety. A sight gauge also lets you mark the side of the tank for different quantities of remaining fuel. The simplist design is a clear plastic tube starting at another fixture, like the exit toward the engine, and extending to above the top of the tank.

I don't think a sight gauge is necessary as can you see the contents and mark as you mentioned on the tank itself - if he has access to its side.

Cadmus, can I steal this thread a bit? I am contemplating doing the same.
Can you share how you are sizing and templating your tank? Your communication with Triple M has been online? Is this a direct replacement or you are relocating it? If so, did you do a cardboard mock up?
By your username I have a feeling that you created a computer assisted drawing, something I would not be able to do... thanks.

Could be BSP (British Standard Pipe). My Mitsubishi uses this for oil fittings. Readily available in the US.
