Dickinson diesel heater - does the outside get hot?

Hi all. I'm considering installing a Dickinson "Alaska" diesel heater but have small concerns around safety due to kids on board

To those that have one: How hot does the exterior case get? I realise the flue will get extremely hot, but I can put a flue guard on that.

I use the very similar "Newport" model Dickinson. I feel that the outside is perfectly safe for children. I might burn skin but only if touched continuously for several seconds. Plenty of time to pull away.

As you surmise, the flue is scorching hot. Flue guard is a must.

Also, the glass door gets extremely hot. I'd probably cover the glass with a screen if I had infants aboard.
