Yes. I'm thinking that might be the way to go. I may try to pick up some different weights because these are my dive weights I use for snorkeling. May stop in a fishing store if any of them are open.

On the up-stroke, diaphragm closes providing resistance. Total cost would be $10 for two buckets plus a 5-10 lb fishing weight. One on each side, and would nest together for storage. Thoughts?

Better idea than the 5-gal bucket. Dual use. I'd expect no less from them aboard such a small cruiser.

Thanks

Re: DIY flopper stopper

Great info on this thread. After checking out everyone's ideas I decided to build a louver style rocker stopper. Being heavily influenced by the FlopStopper design I realized louvers were the only way to get engagement in only a couple inches. Based partly on simplicity I built a solid frame. Anodized aluminum is the obvious choice for material with the weight helping it sink. It turns out that having it ready to go like this means I use it ALL the time. Even when I'm fishing in a 16' skiff I will have it in the water. The amount of rocking that you can be reduced with these is incredible. They truly raise the comfort level of our boat.
