Do You Hate Systems?

The following page on the Pardey site made me smile:

http://www.landlpardey.com/Tips/Tips_2005_October.html

S/V Faith had a summary of this on another board, and it's a fun read in the "to each his own" category-- no blanket criticisms of systems or boats intended.

I like being able to repair what breaks, instead of having to go track down a complete new part.

Integrating systems causes troubleshooting to become more difficult. Its the difference between a black box breaking, and needing a new ground strap!

I agree with Zach.

Just like when I bought a stereo system. I didn't buy the one entire unit. Like the ones that are dominate in the stores nowdays.

I bought seprate componants. Like two speakers. A sudio receiver. A CD player. A tape deck. Etc.

So if one of the items went out. My entire stereo system didn't go out!! I thought ahead, before purchasing. And this was back in the late 1980's. Still works today!!
