Here you go again with that unsubstantiated assertion.

There are several problems with your assertion:
  1. You don't even know if the chain would have struck the rudder or missed it entirely
  2. You don't know how much "sawing' the rudder could have taken before the metal inside of it was contacted.
  3. You don't have any idea the relationship of the strength of the rudder and/or keel and the force being applied by the chain against them (or the force of the yacht against the chain)
  4. You have completely ignored the similar example I posted in post #26 of a similar occurrence where a steel structure sawed against the back edge of a fin keel boat, (and none of your horrific consequences occurred)

In short, you have nothing on which to base your assertion and this has been pointed out to you, yet you continue to make it. Are you just inventing that scenario?

On the other hand there are plenty examples of fin keel boats hitting solid objects, some at very high speed, without breaking off the keel. Here I show four of them.

Further, it would be quite easy to find examples of full keel boats with encapsulated keels which were holed, either in the keel area or hull itself, which were so destroyed that they could not be repaired, or weren’t worth it.
