Engine block Heater question

My boat has this forced air heater that runs from the engines cooling system. I've not run this yet, so I'm not sure how hot it gets.

I want to put a moveable shelf over this so I can better use this space without items coming in contact with the heater or water pipes.

Any thoughts/concerns on this?

Not a block heater, but a forced air heat exchanger. No problems with shelving, unit will not get warmer than the cooling water temperature. But probably not a good place to store butter.

Re: Engine block Heater question

Mine gets hot enough to make the helm area to hot for my feet in the summer. I disconnected it. We are in Florida with no need for a furnace at 170 degrees.

You could cook pizza on mine.
