Extending v-berth

Has anyone built an extension for their v berth, so a taller person can fit?

We have a Gulf 32 (only 23' LWL) that we're overall very happy with... but, I'm 6'5" and can only sleep jammed in one corner of the v berth. I'm thinking I could add a platform to the aft end of the v berth (i.e. extending out toward the salon) and create myself some more space. I can't go forward as the bow is getting very narrow by that point, and I would have to tunnel into my anchor locker which is undersized as it is.

Has anyone tried this? Anyone have some cool ideas / pictures they could share?

Thanks in advance,

-- Bass

I didn't do it, but my jeanneau 23 has the v-berth continous with the settee seats with no bulkhead, so that the v-berth is effectively about 9 feet. Losing the bulkhead make it feel much bigger for a small boat.

I wish it were an option to open up the bulkheads, but I'm sure they're structural and it would mean going into the head!
