Fastening new rub rail considerations

I'll be adding a new installation rub rail to my hull about 8" below the toe. Boat is 45', 30,000lbs. How shall I fasten it?

It will be roughly 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" teak or poly. Some places will be inaccessible inside the hull which is solid laminate.

My thought is to use bronze 1/4 20 bolts where possible and screws where not.

Is that reasonable? Overkill and all screws would be fine? Tap the fiberglass?

Thanks,
Dennis

Bolt and screw combination sounds good but I would use stainless steel outside of the teak (especially) or poly. Be sure to seal around and in any holes to prevent water intrusion.
