Force 10 Stove Burner Problem

Last year, I replaced the thermocouples on the stove top and everything worked fine - except for the need to light the burners manually (no problem, it's an old stove).

In the last few weeks, suddenly I am not getting gas to the second (smaller) of the two burners. I don't think it's the thermocouple, because that would (I think) allow the burner to light but then shut it off as soon as the knob was released. Why would one burner be getting gas and not the other?

P.S. My past experience with Force 10 customer service has been absymal and I vowed last time never to call them again.

could it be dirty or blocked with some kind of flake from corrosion?

First silly question is , do you hear gas escaping from the burner?

If not, two reasons: 1- the tube from the main feed or from the control to the burner is plugged or 2- the burner control is messed up and not allowing gas through. I don't think Force 10 puts a solenoid on every burner, but I've been known to be wrong before.

If you do hear hissing, and a sniff test tells you it is gas, hold the match closer.

thanks. No gas, definitely. and there is a solenoid in that control (I had it apart once before). I'll check for a plugged feed tube.
