Freeing a brass/nylon frozen joint

This spring weekend found me with a garden hose frozen on a nylon fitting for the hose reel. After getting the correct wrench I could twist the fitting about 1/3 turn but the connection was still frozen and I was sure the nylon would break with any more force.

I tried a can of Goop, adhesive remover, dripping some on the threads. I put the wrench back on just to test and with minimal force the connection came loose and I was able to remove the hose without any damage to the nylon fitting.

I think there may be a limited window of time that the solvent will work before it drys and the connection freezes again.

I may be the only one that missed the memo on this but just in case I thought I would post some info instead of questions for once...
