Fridge Options

Mu 1986 Tashiba-31 has a built in cooler. The unit works on AC & DC voltages and does a good job of cooling. Its one drawback is that it does not have a freezer function. ( I like icecream)

Any suggestions for modernizing this?

Re: Fridge Options

New refrigeration based on the Danfos compressor that shapes the evaporator into a small freezer box. Freezer inside the box, the fridge is cooled by the outside. Depending on the size will cost $700-$800 to $1500 or so for an air cooled unit.

I have a Frigoboat air cooled refrigeration system that cools a 9 cu ft box that holds a 1.5 cu ft freezer section. Love it. I did have to add some insulation around the freezer box to keep from freezing the whole fridge.
