Re: gaskets on ports

I'm not sure on your Bomar port but the gaskets on my ABI ports are just friction fit.
No sealant or glue.

I think the best thing for that is 3M Weather Strip Adhesive. It comes in a tube and looks like contact cement.

Re: Gaskets on Ports

Welcome to the forum Nigel.
Most of mine are just friction fit but a couple needed glue...I used rubber cement.

Re: Gaskets on Ports

I've had good luck over the years using plain old contact cement.

Re: Gaskets on Ports

I cleaned out the groove with a small rotery wire brush on a cordless drill. The gasket material I bought came with an adheasive strip but I used black 3M weather strip adhesive also. A bit of a messy job but if it make the hatch over my berth stop leaking... then it is SO WORTH IT!
