The actual repair is easy. The hard part is color matching. If you you don't care bout an exact match and close is good enough, buy a gelcoat repair kit. If you want it to be invisible, have a pro do it.

Re: Gel Coat Repairs

If i have a crack and find out iv done a crap job. A pro could still sand it back and have it look right im guessing? Or would i just be opening a can of worms. The repair does look simple through research. Although i dont want a complete obvious repair at the same time.

+1 on the kits. They are pretty easy to use but Suijin is correct the color matching is tougher.

Here is the size of our largest scratch from this past summer and a mixing photo. Be aware that the color changes rapidly upon adding a very small amount of colorant. It turns out that I don't have a "finished" photo - but the repair is good, but a little 'yellower' than the other hull color. We (my wife) thought it was fine.

Re: Gel Coat Repairs

Bit of an update.
I did the repair myself, i would definitely recommend to anyone that hasnt had any experience to have a go ( obviously with non critical repairs)

Im prity happy with it, and would evan be satisfied if i had payed for it.
So it was cheap 40$ for white gel coat kit, and i now have a fair idea of a new skill. Research made it possible. Will post a photo when i can..
