Generator Engine Mounts Selection

My engine generator runs at 3600 rpm and I would like to replace the engine mounts since the existing ones are pretty much dead. Are there any particular brands or types I should be looking for? I would like to minimize vibration as much as possible. The engine is a two cylinder kubota on a Entec 6kw generator.

Thanks

To minimize vibration you need the softest mounts possible. Say 0.4-0.5" static deflection. So you find the weight of your genset and divide weight by 4 (assuming 4 mounts). Take that mount to a vibration isolator supplier and say "I want a mount with 0.5" static deflection for X lbs".

This assumes that your exhaust and cooling hose connections are all already flexible hoses

Re: Generator Engine Mounts Selection

Old thread but same issue but i am wondering why I can't replace my $100/corner collapsed iso/polyflex type mounts with these at $20/corner.
Base measurements are the same, just need to check height.

Good enough for a 4cyl Toyota 4wd so should be good enough for a 21hp 3cyl kubota

Go for it.... it's a generator, soft and cheap is fine.

Re: Generator Engine Mounts Selection

Ends up the car mounts aren't tall enough to work so I am forced back to the now $150 per corner mounts.

A bit more digging and I find out that our mounts were made by isoflex for diecon engineering and look identical to isoflex mounts.
Turns out isoflex mounts (and polyflex) are rebuildable and new centre cores should be considerably less than new mounts.

Fingers crossed for Monday when they get back to me.
