Hatz D50 Heat Exchanger

Anyone know where there is a Hatz D50 heat exchanger? Mine has been raw water cooled and want to change to freshwater! If your Hatz D50 has finally died and you have a heat exchanger I'd love to buy it, or if you have any ideas on where I might find one that would be appreciated!

Thanks

Warwick

Re: Hatz D50 Heat Exchanger

Are you sure Hatz make a heat exchanger? (I'd be surprised if they do)

Why wouldn't you use something like a Bowman 1069-1? You'd have to do a bit of research to select one that is suitable but that's not a big deal.

If you go to this link there are all sorts of H/E images.

Re: Hatz D50 Heat Exchanger

Is this the manual for the Hatz d35-d50. They may be proprietary made but I think I have seen a Bowman H/E that looks very much the same.

Obviously Hatz is part of BMW?

They say
"The heat exchanger would work on other engines when an adapter was made".

Re: Hatz D50 Heat Exchanger

Thanks Copec43 - awesome feedback. I have the original Hatz manual and it shows both the raw water cooled and freshwater cooled. So really I need more than a heat exchanger I also need the water pump as seen on the last pic you posted. Ideally someone has an old freshwater cooled Hatz D50 that has died and I can buy the freshwater cooling parts - water pump heat exchanger. Will have a look at the links you sent thought as could be an option. Thanks so much!!! I'm also checking with Hatz at the moment to be sure I can get oversize pistons and bearings. It's been a great motor and fits the boat well, so I'd rather re-condition it and change to freshwater cooling if I can, rather than repower.
