Projects Anonymous? Family or church intervention? Put all monies in trust with two signatures required for withdrawals?

Re: HELP I can't quit starting projects!

Sebastian,
I'd never turn down an offer to make a passage on your boat. You have what all intelligent people have: ATD--attention to detail. However, there is a system that works well for me(irrespective of major deconstructive projects): spend half a day on boat projects(when daysailing); half a day sailing. When we cruised full time for over 10 years, I included some boat work every day . . . even on passages. It might be as small as whipping the ends of a sheet, inspecting cotter pins, adjusting a stuffing box, retorquing hose clamps, etc., but every day something was accomplished. Don't forget why you bought your boat--because you love to sail. Good luck and safe sailing.

I've been on the "rognvald plan" for many years. Something done for the boat every day! Today I resealed a portlight. Sometimes I do much more or much less.

Re: HELP I can't quit starting projects!

Thank all y'all for the great suggestions. I like the sail half the day and work half the day idea especially! or maybe have designated days if the wind is right we sail regardless of projects. The bad part was some of the stuff I have been doing has kept us from sailing regularly. Really only a one major thing that I want to do soon--install solar and that really about it. the upgrade, update, remodel stuff can wait till later
