Hirondellle aero-rig cabintop bearing

Hi Cruisers,

Muddy Boat has been helping me understand how to remove the cabin-top bearing on my aero-rigged Hirondelle 'family' catamaran.

Does anyone else have this rig? If so, can you shed some light on the maintenance that is required? How to clean the bearings?

I know I have to remove the fiberglass cover on the cabin-top to see the cabin-top bearing. The 'top cover' is just below the boom, but do I also have to remove the 'L-shaped boot' below the top cover? Remove the four bolts? Two are shown in the picture, the other two are on the back side of the mast.

The pictures were auto-rotated during 'attachment', I don't know how to make them vertical again.

Try Damon Roberts at Magna Global in the UK

He engineered the Hirondelle rigs

He has built the tallest freestanding rigs in the world!

P.s SY 'A' 140m (460ft) long, mast height 91m (330ft)
