That's fascinating but I suspect not ABYC certified. And not reuseable? Not sure it's something I would want to deal with in remote areas.

I suspect you're right that they're probably not ABYC certified, and yes unfortunately they are not reusable. You have to cut them off to remove them. There's a special tool that Gates makes to cut them off without damaging the hose they're on. They do have several advantages over other clamps, but if service in remote areas were a concern, I'd probably carry a few spare "conventional" clamps to use in case I ever had to cut off a Gates Powergrip clamp for some reason and you didn't want to carry spare Powergrips.
