How to deal with rust in tight location

The attached shows the area of the shift linkage for my Yanmar 3GM30F. I want to clean this up, but the area is pretty tight. Suggestions?

Re: How to deal with rust in tight location

Take the arm and end fitting off and have it blasted or carefully sand it all and repaint it well is the best I can offer. Maybe you can do the arm on the tranny without removal. Wire brush, sandpaper, maybe scotchbrite. Or maybe buy a new end fitting is easier.
Those motor mounts (?) in the background need work!
Consider if taking all the rusted stuff off and then you can pay the minimum fee to have it grit blasted in a batch.

Ospho and paint. Unless you remove parts and do it right.
