hull polishing

Now that I repaired a big gel coat scratch and sanded with 320 sand paper... what is the best way to polish it to a glossy surface?
Waxing? What's the best wax?

Re: hull polishing

several grades of finer abrasive sheet; to perhaps 1000 grit +/-. Then compound on a fresh bonnet. Then Collenite Fleet Wax, applied properly. in at least two coats.
Good for at least a year.
YMMV

Re: hull polishing

I got amazing and lasting results last season using the 3M Marine series of polishing compounds and wax (2 coats applied by hand). I also used plenty of elbow grease and a Dewalt professional polisher with wool bonnets.

I expect to just apply one or two coats of wax when I return in May.
