Hydraulic winches

We are figuring out a new boat that has a bunch of hydraulics--furlers and winches and the windlass. Everything was working smoothly for awhile and then, one day, the winches and furlers slowed down considerably. Battery voltage to the powerpack is good.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Hydraulic winches

There could be a flow control valve that somebody fooled with, the filter could be plugged, a kink in the line, low fluid.

Air in the lines…
Bad brushes in the power pack motor…
Leaking bypass valve…

Hydraulics are easy, reliable and simple… right up until they are not…
