Icebox Interior Finish

We have an icebox with coldplates on our 1941 Ed Monk Trawler that needs to be refinished/painted on the interior. It is fiberglassed and has been previously painted. The paint has deteriorated so we would like to re-coat. I have no idea the product that was used originally so I need advice on what would be the best type of paint. Any suggestions?

I'd be talking to paint manufacturers for advice. The question has come up before on Cruisers Forum and some people have indicated they have received professional advice:

If I was doing the job I would investigate the use of one part epoxy paints used for painting steel Rust Guard

Re: Icebox Interior Finish

Some people go so far as to spec food-safe coatings, FDA approved, BPA free, safe to be used in contact with food directly.
