Smile Installing Vevlor Boat Guides on Nimble Trailer

I have a Nimble Artic sail boat. The first time I took her out and tried to land in a cross wind I broke the guide poles off the trailer.

Now I have replaced them with Vevlor 60" Guide poles

The guide pole kit ships with short U-bolts, too short to go around the trailer rails.
So I made this bracket assembly to make it work.

Drawings and photos are here:

Let me know if you find this useful.

Happy sailing Capt Tom Bodine

Re: Installing Vevlor Boat Guides on Nimble Trailer

Tom, thanks for the write-up and drawings.

I am overhauling the guides on my trailer for the keel and this would be a nice addition.

Do the light wire up as run/stop/turn or marker/clearance?

The lights are solar powered. They contain three LED's and a AA Lithium Battery and a switch. When I installed them, they were shinning while the sun was shining. Next morning I checked while still dark and they weren't shinning. I suppose the battery is good for a few hours, but not all night.

More observations to follow, especially when I launch and retrieve the boat again.
